Our mission is to help the best early-stage Welsh companies scale, reach their global ambitions and ultimately achieve a profitable exit.
We raise £2m per year from private individuals who are passionate about helping the next generation of Welsh businesses. Every year, we invest up to £750,000 in three new EIS eligible businesses.
Alongside our investment, we provide entrepreneurs with constructive support and access to our network of industry experts and later stage investors.
Waterspring investors can build equity stakes in the most exciting Welsh companies, whilst benefiting from Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) tax reliefs.
What we do
Facilitate
We raise £2m per year from a select group of individuals who are passionate about supporting Welsh businesses.
Through our Investor Platform, investors can digitally complete the onboarding process. After each investment, we manage the process of issuing EIS certificates, meaning our investors and their advisors can easily claim the relevant EIS tax reliefs.
We invest using a nominee structure, simplifying our investees ownership structure whilst ensuring our investors can maintain their privacy.
Uncover
We meet with hundreds of companies with the aim of finding two or three new investments each year.
We build relationships with local advisors, co-working spaces, incubators, non-executives and universities to ensure we are aware of the most promising companies.
We lead the negotiation, due diligence and legal processes on our investors’ behalf.
Propel
As a group, we have personally achieved exits of over £300m to trade and private equity.
We support our investees in scaling their companies through board representation and access to our network of industry specialists.
From the outset, we focus on optimising the business for sale and seek to maximise value wherever possible.
